Movetis wins the Deloitte Rising Star Award

Brussels, 8 October 2010 – Yesterday evening, the winners of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 and the Rising Star Awards have been announced. The Belgian company Movetis, based in Turnhout and specialised in developing medicines against gastrointestinal diseases, was awarded with a Rising Star Award.
The Dutch company Service2Media has been selected as the winner of the 2010 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a list of the fastest growing technology companies in the Benelux meeting. The company, which achieved a growth rate of 4763% over the last five years, is located in Enschede, the Netherlands, and creates and operates innovative mobile services and applications. Dutch company Morphis was second on the list, and Dutch CM Groep ranked third, in addition to obtaining the Sustainable Grower Award. Coming in at 11th place with a growth rate of 1325%.iVOX bvba was the best ranked Belgian company on the Technology Fast 50 list.

The Deloitte Rising Star Event and Technology Fast 50 Award Ceremony took place yesterday evening in "Evoluon" in Eindhoven. During the gala dinner, Service2Media was elected as the fastest growing technological company. Service2Media, which was founded in 2008 and granted the Rising Star Award in 2008, was now selected for the first time for the Fast50 and immediately took home the first prize.

Belgian Company wins Rising Star Award

In the afternoon, the companies elected for the Rising Star award were competing with Elevator Pitches. This competition was specially created for companies that have been in business for less than five years. By contrast, the Fast 50 selects companies which are older than five years. An independent jury selected Movetis as 'Rising Star 2010', thanks to a great pitch and the best business plan based on scalability, experience, expertise of the management team and highly promising growth.

Movetis focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of novel innovative drugs for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. The company developed a product for the symptomatic treatment of chronic constipation. The Communications Director of Movetis, Chris Van Raemdonck, is very pleased; "this award is the recognition for the efforts of the entire team, for their perseverance to develop a molecule in order to obtain an approved drug which will improve the lives of many women suffering from chronic constipation".

Deloitte Technology Fast 50: top rankings

The second place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking was for the software company Morphis BV, which develops workflow and workload management products. This company from Den Bosch obtained a growth rate of 2704%. CM Groep from Breda, which provides SMS and MMS services to companies, made the list for the 5th consecutive year and finished in the 3rd place (growth rate of 2227%). The CM Groep's Jeroen van Glabbeek received two prizes: the third prize overall and the Sustainable Grower Award.

The Belgian company iVOX bvba, specialised in online market research, came in at 11th place, making it the highest ranked Belgian company on the list. This in comparison to last year, when the Belgian company Netlog was the winner of the Fast 50.
